Dr. Cecilia "Sissy" Woodruff Longfellow Sweet comes to Philadelphia in search of more than "brotherly love". Instead she finds surprising sisterhood and renewed love in a less than perfect world.

Sissy met Leonard Will online in the Dante chat room. When she impulsively shows up at his door, she encounters a series of mistaken identities and surprises which include Leonard's estranged sister Margot, his step daughter Jackie Sojourner Truth who has just joined the army, her mother Kate who hates the military, and the mysteriously pregnant Neely Frank. A midnight visit from the Reverend Charles Longfellow Sweet brings him face to face with the greatest marriage encounter of his life as he fights for the love of the childhood sweetheart he believes he has lost to the internet.

THE BEATRICE FACTOR is a story of remembrance, regret and renewal through the eyes of those who have not lost faith in the power of life and love, however imperfect they may be.
